چکیده

The unidentified TeV gamma-ray source MGRO J1908+06/HESS J1908+063 was observed with the VERITAS Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Array during October 2007 and May-June 2008. This extended source is located on the galactic plane at a galactic longitude of 40.45 degrees and has a hard TeV spectrum with an index of Γ≈2.08 [1]. The Very High Energy (VHE) gamma-ray flux was measured by H.E.S.S. out to energies greater than 30 TeV which along with its unidentified nature makes it an interesting hard-spectrum extended source for study. We confirm the detection of VHE gamma-ray emission from this source using VERITAS.

Observation of Galactic Gamma-ray Sources with VERITAS

We report on VERITAS observations at energies above 200 GeV of known or potential galactic γ-ray sources. The observed objects comprise pulsars, pulsar wind nebulae, high-mass X-ray binaries and gamma-ray sources with unknown counterparts in other wavelengths. Among the highlights are the observation of variable gamma-ray emission from the X-ray binary LS I +61 303 and the detection of MGRO J19...

Broad - band X - ray measurements of the black hole candidate XTE J 1908 + 094

XTE J1908+094 is an X-ray transient that went into outburst in February 2002. After two months it reached a 2-250 keV peak flux of 1 to 2 × 10 erg cms. Circumstantial evidence points to an accreting galactic black hole as the origin of the the X-radiation: pulsations nor thermonuclear flashes were detected that would identify a neutron star and the spectrum was unusually hard for a neutron star...

Resolved, expanding jets in the Galactic black hole candidate XTEJ1908+094

Black hole X-ray binaries undergo occasional outbursts caused by changing inner accretion flows. Here we report high-angular resolution radio observations of the 2013 outburst of the black hole candidate X-ray binary system XTE J1908+094, using data from the VLBA and EVN. We show that following a hard-to-soft state transition, we detect moving jet knots that appear asymmetric in morphology and ...

HARD X-RAY EMISSION FROM SH 2‐104: A NuSTAR SEARCH FOR GAMMA-RAY COUNTERPARTS

We present NuSTAR hard X-ray observations of Sh 2–104, a compact HII region containing several young massive stellar clusters (YMSCs). We have detected distinct hard X-ray sources coincident with localized VERITAS TeV emission recently resolved from the giant gamma-ray complex MGRO J2019+37 in the Cygnus region. Faint, diffuse X-ray emission coincident with the eastern YMSC in Sh 2–104 is likel...

VERITAS observations of HESS J0632+057

HESS J0632+057 is one of only two unidentified high energy gamma-ray sources which appear to be point-like in nature. It is possibly associated with the massive star MWC 148 and has been suggested to resemble known TeV binary systems like LS I +61 303 or LS 5039. These binaries are rare and extreme (only three TeV binaries are known to date), and their gamma-ray emission mechanism has not been ...
